Brazilian Zouk with Rachel

Brazilian Zouk is back!! Our Dear Rachel returns to the mountains on January 14th for another afternoon filled with dance, fun and connection. 

If you missed the previous  workshops, do not worry about being new or behind the group. These workshops will have more material for all of our dancers no matter your level of experience.   Join us for another wonderful Saturday afternoon workshop with Rachel Leigh from Denver, CO. We will spend an afternoon learning, dancing, and connecting guided by the wonderfully experienced Rachel Leigh. The first 2 hours will be focused on footwork and the last two will be for body movement. We encourage you to join us for the entire afternoon of workshop, but you will have an option to join for 1/2  the time if that works best for you.

After the workshops we will break for a short time and then meet again for a House Dance Party at Casa de Pawls to end the day with more practice, mingling and to enjoy snacks and refreshments. BYOB ok. We hope to see you there!!

¡Vuelve el zouk brasileño! Nuestra Querida Rachel regresa a las montañas el 14 de enero en otra tarde llena de baile, diversión y conexión. Si te perdiste los talleres anteriores, no te preocupes por ser nuevo o estar atrasado a comparacion  del grupo. Estos talleres tendrán más material para todos nuestros bailarines sin importar tu nivel de experiencia. Acompanenos a otro maravilloso taller de sábado por la tarde con Rachel Leigh de Denver, CO. Pasaremos una tarde aprendiendo, bailando y conectandonos guiados por la maravillosamente y experimentada Rachel Leigh. Las primeras 2 horas estarán enfocadas al pasos y las dos últimas al movimiento corporal. Los animamos a asistir a el taller por toda la tarde, pero tendrá la opción de asistir por la mitad del tiempo si eso le funciona mejor a usted. Después de los talleres, haremos un breve descanso y luego nos reuniremos nuevamente en la fiesta de baile en Casa de Pawls para terminar el día con más práctica, socialización y para disfrutar de botanas y refrigerios. BYOB está bien.

About Our Guest Instructor: 

Rachel has been dancing Brazilian Zouk since 2010, inspired by her mother and grandmother who are both professional social dancers. After falling in love with the dance, she began her studies with the masters in the U.S and Brazil including Brenda and Anderson, Bruno Galhardo, and Gui Prada. Rachel has 20 years of cross-training in social dances including Swing, Blues, and Latin. She is passionate about finding common truths among these styles and brings this experience to her teaching modality. As a result the importance of basic steps, comfortable body movement, and social dance connection have become clear, as those are the roots of any magical dance.

Rachel is a well-known educator shifting paradigms around brain-body awareness. As the director of Denver Zouk, she organizes events locally and has taught over 10,000 students at festivals and retreats throughout the U.S and Mexico. Her unique approach to dance addresses grind culture, confidence mindset, and human connection. Rachel invites her students into a safe container where her cheerful smile, playful demeanor, and unique movements will support any new dancer in tapping into their own creative expression.
